Scope

This applies to all Furman academic and administrative departments.

Policy Background

This policy has been created in order to better inform the university community about support for special events.

Policy Statement

Information Technology Services (ITS) does not provide support of special events on campus.  ITS will provide training on use of the equipment and other technology, but the support of the event is the responsibility of the department.

Policy Details

Requests for training or assistance setting up can be sent to the IT Service Center.  ITS will provide training on using meeting room equipment or conducting online webinars or meetings, etc., for the event to the assigned department representative or designee.  ITS will also meet with event planners at a mutually agreeable time in advance of the event for practice or testing.  If operational support is required during the event, ITS can recommend a local audio/visual vendor.

Exceptions

The quarterly meetings of the Board of Trustees and Faculty Meetings are the only exceptions to this policy.

Communication

Departments will be notified of this policy as requests are sent to the Service Center.
