FortiClient VPN - iOS mobile app configuration

Note: Only Furman Faculty/Staff are able to request access to the Furman VPN, NOT students. They will first need to *Request Access to VPN* [click purple link to the related knowledge base article for instructions on how to request access].

1. Open the App Store app on iOS device (iPhone) - tip: you can swipe downward on your Home screen to bring up the Spotlight search & type.
2. Search for FortiClient VPN app and install it - if you've never installed the app previously, it may show a 'Get' button instead. 
3. Open the app; if this is the first time, you will be prompted with the following:
   • "FortiClient VPN" would like to add VPN configuration... --> Allow
     • Enter iPhone Passcode (Add VPN Configurations) 
   • Notifications --> Allow 
   • "I acknowledge that this free App does not come with any product support. I will not contact Fortinet technical support for any issues experienced while using this free App." --> I accept 
4. Click the Select connection > button
5. Click the Add Configuration > button 
6. Add/Edit VPN:
   • Secure Protocol: SSLVPN
   • Name: Furman VPN - Temp
   • Server Address: vpntest.furman.edu - note: it will autofill with 'https://' in front of the address - this is normal
   • SSO: Enable - toggle this on to Green
   • Port: 443
   • Click the blue Save button 
7. Under the USER VPN GATEWAY section, tap/select Furman VPN - Temp & ensure a blue checkmark appears to the right of it
8. Click the blue < VPN button in the upper-left corner
9. Toggle on (green) the Connect toggle button
10. Enter your Furman username@furman.edu in the Sign in field, then click Next
11. You will then be prompted for a Duo mobile multi-factor authentication
12. You should now be connected to the FortiClient VPN ✅
