Questions about using alumni email
How do I access my account?
You will login at http://outlook.office365.com. If this directs you to a Furman login page instead of Microsoft please try clearing your browser cache/history or using a private browser window. If you continue to have problems try logging in at http://portal.office.com
What is my username?
The first part of your username will not change. Enter your standard username followed by @furman.onmicrosoft.com. ex) If your username was jsmith, login as jsmith@furman.onmicrosoft.com
What is my password?
When logging in for the first time choose “Forgot my password” or “Can’t access your account?” which will walk you through resetting your password
Will I lose the contents of my email account?
No, all items in your account will remain
Will my email address change?
Yes, your email address will change from @furman.edu to @alumni.furman.edu
Will email to my student email address forward to my alumni email address?
No, email to your @furman.edu address is not forwarded to your @alumni.furman.edu address.
Will I have access to other Office 365 products with my alumni email account?
No, your account will only retain access to the email and calendar services
How do I reset my password?
Enter your username, and then select “Forgot Password” or “Can’t access your account?” You will have the option of sending the new password to the alternate email address or cell phone you provided during sign up.
If my name changes, can I request a name change?
No, your display name and email address will be permanent.
Is there a fee for this service?
No, Furman provides this as a complimentary, opt-in service to Furman graduates beginning in 2019.
I graduated before 2019, can I still get an account?
Unfortunately, this new service is opt-in at the time of graduation. If a graduate does not opt-in during the specified time period their accounts are deleted and cannot be restored.
